I dislike most bar tapes with adhesive, as I often reuse my tape and often they will tear when removing.

What's your favorite non-adhesive tapes, hopefully which would have some tackiness to them?

The thickest Fizik is my favorite. Non-adhesive and easy to grip.

Boring but Cinelli cork gel. Easy to wrap and it works.

I have successfully reused fizik as well. The last time, it was on bars with a different shape and it worked quite well.

I'm a big fan of Newbaums cloth tape. Not for everyone, but extremely durable, reusable, and ages wonderfully!

Fizik and don't take the cover off the adhesive tape.

Nashbar, believe it or not. Particularly the "soft" stuff with the texture. The back has a bead of grippy silicone-like material, instead of adhesive.

Specialized uses a wider band of grippy silicone stuff on the back of their tapes as well.

L.S. is horrible...looks great to start...performance is "0", plus slick when wet....try anything else!

For ~$10 a pop, Cinelli cork is expendible to me. Still my favorite tape. I apply it with a thin layer of cloth 'hockey' tape underneath so no stickum on the bar with just a tiny bit of extra cush.

i honestly cant remember if it is adhesive backed, but my current favorite tape is zipp service course cx tape. really nice stuff IMO.

I used to use the Fizik tape and just peel off the adhesive.
Currently using welltec shorex silicone tape. Grippy but easy to clean and remove/ reinstall.

I think it's all in the wrap job.. I've re-wrapped just about everything successfully, including Lizard Skins, which I have had absolutely 0 issues with, but I don't stretch it much.

I just put the Fizik 3mm stuff on my bike this week. It sure reminds me a lot of the Lizard skins, but maybe with better grip since it has more holes/pores in the tape. Seems pretty good but still a little slippery on the trainer with no gloves when the sweat starts pouring. Very pleasant to wrap and for the most part it is thick enough. (I almost wish I could get a bar where the whole bar top was 31.whatever mm in diameter.)

Pro Vibe 7S is 31.8 for most of the top. I live it. Feels weird when I ride a regular bar.

I have been using fabric knurl tape. It's silicone based and feels great looks good and comes in a few different colors. I prefer it over the lizard skins.

Pro Silicon tape is really easy to remove and reapply. Has a nice feel as well.

+1

Pretty basic, but durable and easy to re-wrap. Not too spendy, either.

I've been using the Fizik ultralight. It comes with a tiny strip of adhesive in the middle, but it's really more like a tacky rubber strip that leaves no residue or anything. So I don't think it's the type of adhesive you're referring to. I have been able to remove and reinstall it a number of times without issue.

Surprisingly, this stuff from Performance has been really good.

It has a silicone backing but not adhesive (I also don't like the adhesive), stretches well, is grippy, wraps well, no logos, etc., etc. It's what I had hoped the Lizard Skin stuff would be.

Benotto cellotape.

http://www.velociao.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/benotto-cello-tape-small.jpg

But only on my TT bike, and I've never used it on a cello or other stringed instrument.

Firm Colors is really the most important thing for me in a tape. No room for soft colors on my bike.

My favorite as well after trying about a dozen different types in 2 years on different bikes. There is adhesive but it does rewrap very well. Excellent grip, even without gloves. Nice cushioning without being too thick. Super easy to wrap and cleans off rather easily.

Another vote for Zipp SC. I was a long time Lizard Skin user but this Zipp tape is nice, nice and nice. And it not overpriced like the others - leather in particular. The Zevlin looks very interesting.
