Al frame(s) diff. Question.

What is the diff between 7005 al and 6061 al for bike frames? I see GT is back with a 6061 but see most others are using 7005. What about the butting in them, what diff does that make?

Is one better? I one a thicker wall tube?

the stuff painted blue is stronger




AL is AL...like steel is steel. Stronger alloy just means you can build using less of it. geo and tube shape are far more important than what alloy it is....
