I'm thinking I'm going to buy either the Y16 or Y15 but no one stocks them around here. Does anyone here own one or at least has handled one and can give me a better idea of the size of them? There's not even dimensions on the Crank Bros site. Do they fit nicely in a jersey pocket? in a smallish seatbag?

No responses so I just went ahead and got one. Very impressed with it. More of a tool set than a multitool and not exactly small but sits nicely in a jersey pocket or in a seat bag of the mid size variety.

(Yes the watch is for scale :P )

The chain tool assembled:

Everything you get with the Y15:

This will be a good companion for longer rides.

damn that thing is gigantic, looks so small in the retail pictures.

looks pretty versatile though, more tools than most.

for me I like my fix it sticks, I don't need a chain tool or I would probably pick something else. How heavy is this guy?

Neat. I'll repeat a comment I made ACH in the everyday carry thread:

It would be nice if Peter Atwood made a bike-specific compact tool thingy. (with chain tool, of course) Given how hard it is to buy his stuff, if I had just won the Powerball I'd consider giving him a commission to make some.

Weight (and plenty of it):

is it not as heavy as it looks?

I use the fixit sticks too... Road variety, plus a valve core removal tool and a Lezyne minipump... all the repairage I ever need

EDIT - woops.. guess it took me too long to click "post"

Half LB... no small change

I actually would have guessed was heavier than that. With the chain tool it is really not that bad

Yeah I think it's a reasonable weight to have two Y-wrenches and a sturdy chain tool.

The quick-link storage is clever.

I've never done anything via KS - how does one know that the folks proposing the project are semi reliable?

I always got my stuff but I know that there has been some failures and people lost their money. I bet somene here knows more about it.

That's a really crappy bottle opener tho

The CPR-9 is my all-time favorite compact on-bike tool, but I don't think it's still in production.
