The Time. And twice on Sundays. Best carbon bikes ever imo.

Hmm interesting choices actually.
You have so many nice looking bikes but i can't think of a bike you own that looks as raw and racy as the time!? The look 595 is a bit of everything which feels more in place in a stable with 1 or 2 race bikes only. So with your stable id go with the more extreme time i think to get a better variety (at least from a visual pow, can't comment on the ride of the time frame).

Eric...I believe that you should build up both (considering we ride almost identically sized set-ups) and I will happily exercise it for you, whenever I visit Son#1.

You can build one with lowly Chorus and Eurus/Shamal alloy wheels, if you wish,...I'm not picky!

I've owned a couple of Times, so I'd keep the Look. Visually the Look is more elegant...how's that for a reason?:D What size are they?

Ive owned a time rx instinct and look 585, and enjoyed both...slight edge to the 585 as the geometry was a touch racier which i preferred for that style of bike.

Both frames are XL's - will be selling one or the other so feel free to call dibs now haha

Time - 585(TT), 203 (HT, internal HS), 73/73.5
Look - 575(TT), 182 (HT, internal HS), 73/73

It hurts that we ride the same size bikes. Your Look 585 that you sold to Dan haunts me by living just a few minutes away.

I love both, by the 595 gets an edge for being more classic looking.

drink a bottle or two of french wine and go with the one that looks the best.

Seems like with a shorter top tube and head tube on the Look, you'd have a longer stem (likely better handling) combined with a bigger seat to bar drop, or additional spacers on the Look. Do you have a feel for which of the two will fit best?

I like the look of the Look, but I am thinking there is enough difference one will fit better and therefore ride better.

Both frames are drool-worthy. Luckily for my bank balance, they're both a little too big for me. :D

Besides, I'm waiting until you post one of your primo wheel sets for sale and I won't be able to say no.

No... sell ME the Time!

Actually the saddle probably won't go high enough on the ISP for me to ride it... oh well.

I've always listed over an rxr ulteam but it's reputation for a flexy headtube has steered me clear of them.

I have a similar set of bikes: Time VXR and Look 585. The Look fits me a little better as it is a bit smaller, but I prefer the handling of the Time. It would be a tough decision to make if one had to go, as I like them both for different reasons.

This particular Time has notable flex on the ISP. Maybe not as much on a 50% cut ISP but my friend sold it due to it. Ive read from other users complaining about the same issue.

I would built the 595. Stiff, fast and timeless.

It's amazing how a bike that was used in Grand Tour races is too flexy in the headtube and ISP areas for internet bike riders. But then again, it doesn't have rack mounts nor clearance for 30c tires, so the step-away-from-randonneur rider isn't going to be pleased with it.

ATMO, right? Absolutely.

Get the Time.

the Look, coming from a fan of Time. The RXR Ulteam looks like it was designed mostly for aerodynamics and evading radar. Build it if you want to go fast in a straight line without much grade. Better yet, sell it and get a look mondrian 596 ipack.

The "internet bike rider" trained and raced this frame for 2 seasons on provincial crits. If you think members here are just "internet bike riders", you should troll elsewhere.

Uh-huh. But it was still "your friend" and not you, so you're just repeating that which you heard. I watch enough Judge Judy to know that's hearsay, and it's not admissible.

Build the 595 for sure, I've had mines for serval years, she's a keeper. I actually prefer the responsiveness over my Colnago. The 595 and its sexiness will you have you hang her up when finished where as you'll just sell off the Time when done with him.

so it looks like this thread might be completely pointless, as a recent financial emergency will now be forcing the sale of both of these french beauties.

if there are any interested parties among you, shoot me a PM before they go public in the classifieds on saturday...
