Hi all,

I'm looking for something flat to use as a headset bearing cover with an OD of 1.9" to 2" and ID of 1.125" and a thickness of 1mm at most. Any idea where I could source that? Current headset spacer is flat on the bottom, so it makes this a little easier. Aluminum or carbon works.

I think some type of BB30 spacer might work since 30mm is pretty close at 1.18".

do you basically want a slam that stem bearing cover?

Those have a lip on them, so unfortunately they wouldn't work but that's basically what I'm looking for, but just flat.

Could you buy one and then gently pound it flat?

Do you not have any BB30 shims/spacers/seals to try out?

Interesting, do you think it's possible to flatten it without looking like complete garbage? It'd help bring the OD up to the 2" mark too.

If I had some BB30 stuff I would try. I'll stop by a shop this weekend if I can't find a more suitable alternative in the mean time.

I have some BB30 things, but they're in the garage where it is cold. Not sure what the ODs are... So you want both top and bottom to be flat?

Ya, ideally a shim that's 2" od and 1 1/8 id but 30mm is close enough.

the STS covers start as flat blanks that are pressed into shape one at a time in my friends living room in brookline, ma - given that fact, I'm pretty sure i could get you a flat one, or you could just email ian directly and ask, mention that eric baumann suggested you reach out ;)
