You get swept away in a flood, stay submerged neck deep in cold water while holding onto a branch for 40min AND your still holding on to your bike! Got to love the picture of him scoping out the damage to his steed. Respect!

That's excellent! I love it when he tells the rescuers, "I've got my bike with me!" as they are trying to drag him out. In other words, pull hard enough for two!

Embellished sounds right. The rescuers appear to be wading in without safety lines and it's not above their heads... maybe he could have just walked out if he'd let go of his bicycle?:crap:

Guess that's me... I'm totally conditioned that if I ever fell in shoes and/or clothes and anything else are expendable to get myself into "swim mode".

Just because he could have walked out if he ditched the bike doesn't mean he should.
