Back by popular demand. Ok, maybe not popular... I think one person randomly reminisced about the weight loss spreadsheet sometime back in November...

Pretty simple 'challenge'. You put in your weight at whatever interval works for you. Once per week, once per day, once per month. Totally up to you. This just keeps track publicly. You are only competing against yourself, to be a better and lighter rider this year.

The Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders) is 91 days away. A lot can happen in 91 days. If you participate in this challenge, you'll hopefully be lighter by that point than you are today.

For those interested, here is the link. (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_N9sPHvKJno7reTSa9YiIfAEjrbf8_FktBNIWypurq4/edit?usp=sharing)

Last time, we had some funny business with the spreadsheet getting hacked. If that happens again, I'll move to the more secure way of sharing a google drive spreadsheet. For now, it is open to anybody.

Post any questions/issues in this thread. I'll do my best to update and fix any bugs.

I gained 12 pounds over the summer! Changed offices, increased my bike commute mileage, but "stress eat" much more. Looking to get back on track. Better food, less beer, more exercise.

Also on myfitnesspal as JAGI410.

I'm in, finally back from a broken foot that kept me from running the last 3 months... Hoping to put in some running miles this winter to take off some pounds....

I just can't get more than about 50 minutes on my bike once it's lower than 35, so trying my hat at running instead this year

Been on a "program" for a month or so.. I quote "program," because so far I haven't actually been following it - but I'm still somehow managing to shed some lbs. Basically, I just stay a little hungry all the time, and try to exercise when I can. The weather has been absolutely atrocious, which has been a major impediment.. and I haven't really gotten a trainer setup set up - really need to get on that. Not grinding away my main bike's tires and gears on the trainer, but I've got an old 7 speed I just need to finish putting back together.

I think I peaked right around 168-170, down to 160, still have 10 to go by spring.. I strongly suspect I'm not gonna see the underside of 160 until I get back to counting my calories scientifically and get regular time in the saddle.

I'm in...Goal is to go from 154 to 140. Trick is I don't want to sacrifice much LBM by the goal date.

I picked up 16 pounds in 2015, half that since Thanksgiving. Even my fat guy jerseys don't fit well any more. Need to lose 30 pounds this year and get my climbing lungs back. Going to have to stop eating lunch at the company cafeteria, which has decent diverse food offerings.

Can I count the 36 pounds I lost *last* year?

Matt - the % graph isn't picking everyone up, need to update the field it's pulling from.

Thanks for setting it up again!

It is looking ok to me. Hit the refresh button and see if that corrects it. People don't get a line on the graph until they put in atleast two weights, I seem to recall is the way that the chart works.

Once you put in two, then you will have a line connecting them.

Edit: Got it. Was looking at the wrong graph. I got the right one now, and corrected it. That percent lost graph is more of a 'beta' feature.... haha.

Well, I didn't gain 10 pounds. :hello::banana::hello:

I have to look for victories where I can find them.

I'm in.

I was 182 after PBP last August. Tore my left rotator cuff on the way coming home. Jeroboams are heavy, use two hands. Training suffered and then I got a respiratory issue. 27 Pounds of lard later, time to lose it.

Only way to lose fat is to burn it.

This is one thing I know how to do, just have to do it.

I'm looking to lose 27 pounds in 7 weeks.

I am in as well. I haven't been below 200 in at least a decade and may never be again, but 225-230 is just too much. Any recommendations on a good scale and when/how often to weigh in?

Thanks, Doug

I wish I would have saw this earlier. Man Its funny the hardest thing to DO is not to do anything -that is eat :)

I would be a lot better at everything I like at 165 not 185.

Dismal failure, so far. In fact, I'm about 2lbs UP from 160.

First race is in 19 days. Uhg.

At least it's mostly flat..

Last winter I was on top of it, losing about 15lbs from 180 down to under 165. This year, not quite as much luck - I suppose because three IPAs/day doesn't help. I will be 64 this summer and I suppose that doesn't help either. When I was in my 30s or 40s or even 50s, I could eat or drink anything and still be at about 160lb with riding regularly - not any more. Oh well, time to change my approach.

my weight has fluctuated several times in my life i.e. gained 20+ pounds. the diet that has served me best is a simply one. no alcohol and not eating anything made with flour or sugar. albeit at 68 years old and retired it is harder to stay the course.
