Soma New Xpress tires, any opinions?

I'm planning to use my cross bike on a brevet or two this year and need tires. I want something with a good ride quality and fast rolling in a 32 or 35 width and found that New Xpress are very similar to Paselas but with a more flexible protection strip, not Kevlar. So that sounds promising. These will be pavement only though so maybe they have too much tread?

I have no experience with the Soma tires, but the Compass Bon Jon Pass (https://www.compasscycle.com/shop/components/tires/700c/compass-700cx35-bon-jon-pass/) tires are worth a look. Tubeless compatible if you're so inclined. All the Compass tires I've used have been top notch.
