I just acquired one of these framesets. Really excited to get some miles on it. Looks like a nice bike. Priced high or is it ok on account of being NOS?
Steel is real.

I've been admiring that frame for a while--just my size.
But also a little expensive. NOS I guess pushes up the price, but a couple of similar used ones (although not as pretty) have gone pretty cheap...
I'm not sure if the demise of Serotta has killed the market, or that these last generation frames don't attract the traditionalists, but also don't appeal to the younger crowd.

The Coeur d'Acier frames were made of steel (l'acier means steel in French).
These are very nice riding frames. Agreed that they don't appeal to the traditionalists who are drawn to the CSi. The gold dust paint color is really nice in person.

I think the CIII became the CDA.
Nice frame, but asking too much.
When they started putting carbon stays, they lost me.

I know the seller. His name is Alan and he owned bike shops under his name in the Philadelphia and Delaware area for the past 30+ years. He recently closed up shop and is clearing things out on eBay. I'm sure he wouldn't be opposed to an offer.
Alan's shop was a certified Serotta dealer and he did a number of fittings for people's customs, Serottas and from other builders, with a Serotta fit cycle. Really knowledgable guy who also ran a successful team in these parts back in the late '80s and early '90s.
