Shimano makes them as well. There are two different versions, flat and concave.

I have never seen flat ones. They are usually contured for the downtube. Somewhat. Backing plates for DT shifters can be found either flat or concave.
You need the concave ones to match the profile of the downtube.

flat ones are on bar end shifters for instance...they wont work around a down tube

Yes it does, I have those in my wifes bike. Works fine. I do like these, I like the easy to tweak mechanism.

I dont prefer it to campagnolo kind, they are both great to me.

I use the flat ones on my MX Leader. The tubes are too fat for the concave ones.
For a lht concave should be the ones.
