Many of our neighbors say that our dog won the ultimate dog lottery, but we think we won the lottery.

She really is. Usually stray dogs here will get killed by the police, starve, or freeze to death.

You did, good for you. Dogs and other pets are some of the most unselfish creatures there are. Yup, you get some nasty ones but mostly because of their surroundings. She is gorgeous, and she is loved..good for both of you. I love happy endings(or beginnings).

It seems that with dogs, the worse they've had it before they join your family, the more they appreciate the good life when they get it.

my (significantly) better half made sure to include some cycling goodies under the tree! A pair of FMB paris Roubaix's and the Silca Hex Key set. The FMB's will be on the stretching rims to begin a few months of aging tonight.

My true love arranged for Above Category to get this orange Q36.5 jacket from Italy in time for the holidays after I admired a demo in the shop. A huge indulgence.

She'll need a few changes to make her mine, but we are off to a good start, assembled today and taken for a short but spirited 15 mile ride. She rides like a dream.

Was fortunate enough to be a part of my next door neighbors surprise for her huband, a Cervelo S with Hed Jets to do events with. Last year I gave him my custom Teesdale with Campy 8 speed and he crushed us regulars with very little miles under his belt (ok hes young and strong). He came over later and gave me credit for getting him into the sport and helping him train right. In with the young and out with us grey hairs, the sport marches on......

I like what you did with it using Brooks (maroon ?) tape, thinking of doing the same with my Stanyan. Nashbar has a sale on the Team Pro Saddle and leather tape in maroon,$140 for both out the door total.

The bike came with maroon tape and brown saddle. it just didn't look right to me, or its not what i pictured in my head. I put on that black saddle, and will probably switch up tape soon too. maybe 2 tone black with yellow tape.
i saw that sale, i like the ochre saddle too. i wish pros were a bit more like B17s in comfort. im still trying to break in my one brooks pro...

not cycling related, but inspiration to keep exploring I suppose...
my girlfriend got me these two antique globes.
I have a globe obsession, she meant to buy two but accidentally won both at the auction house.
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5686/23715207660_575a816aa4_c.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/C8CD1G)20151227-DSCF4125.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/C8CD1G) by Adam Paiva (https://www.flickr.com/photos/adampaiva/), on Flickr

we then had fun drinking whiskey and determining the date of issue based on clues from country names and existence or lack there of.
determined the larger one which was made in Seneca NY was made between 1892-1895.
Smaller one is a globe marking the extent of the Brittish empire and was made 1929-1930

and she made a watercolor painting for the card, of two mice looking at a globe.

This cool custom leather pouch for tube, co2, phone, etc. Fits perfectly in my center jersey pocket. Even got a flat on my first ride with it so I could test it out properly!
