What is the max reasonable tire size for a Colnago C60 - will it run 25s nicely?
Thanks!

I would assume so. I have a C59 and am running Vittoria Pave 25mm on Campy Neutrons and they clear without issue.
I know if you search google, there is plenty of info out there.

Thanks, will do, but really trust the forum for a little more direct advice too! So if anyone knows for sure, please advise, thanks! > nice bike C59!

Yes, it is a tight fit but, for me, its more an issue of the brake's vertical clearance.

I am running 25 FBM Carbone tubulars on Bora 2 Ultra's and it works. It is tight but I have had no issues.

The C60 I test rode for a day didn't have much vertical clearance in the fork and around the rear brake bridge with 23 mm tires. I remember thinking 25s would be a very tight fit, especially those that run larger than advertised (Michelin Pro4 come to mind).

The rear wheel on mine has no clearance issue what so ever when using a 25.

It should fit well, especially with a wider rim. If clearance is tight you can put another serrated washer between the brake and the fork and that will get you another mm or so. Do not use more than 2 washers.

Good to know.

I also wonder if Colnago allows "variations" from frame to frame due to their handmade nature. For example, on my C40 I couldn't fit 25 mm tires due to the location of the rear brake bridge, but other people reported fitting larger tires with no such issues. Maybe that is still the case with the C60.

michelin really needs to mark that tire as a 28mm, I am sure it has screwed over many many people

My 2014 C59 fits 25mm Pave clinchers on HED Belgium rims with no problems at all. Also fits Veloflex 25mm Roubaix tubulars glued to new Zipp 303's which measure something like 26.5mm at the brake track.

Iv run 27 Pave clinchers with Enve Smart 3.4 wheels/DA 9000 brakes on my C60 without issue.

Not true 25s with real world clearance. In other words, don't ride over sap and pick up a tiny 2mm pebble.

The Italians don't think race bike tires should be over 23. Fact.

My C59 has Schwalbe One 25s (actual measurement is about 28mm) with plenty clearance, FWIW.

C59s where dudes tried to run 25s:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Colnago-C59-52s-Matte-Black-/121770184157?hash=item1c5a118ddd%3Ag%3AVuIAAOSwQTV WBZDb&nma=true&si=hYNc0nixEG0D5mu8UXfQqyv7f%252Fo%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

The frame is in very good condition with some scratches to the clear coat under the seatstay bridge from using larger 25c tires with 23mm wide rims. The underside of the fork is similar, with wear completely through the clear coat, but not the outer carbon layer. This tire wheel combination does fit, but the road grit rubbed the clear coat and paint off. I have taken very detailed photos of these two spots for your review. This in no way affects the performance or ride quality. It, sadly for me, should improve your purchase price.

Just a word of caution, tubular tires tend to have a different profile than clinchers.

Good point? Higher or lower, who has clincher pics of 25 clinchers on a c60?

My experience is that tubulars have a rounder profile and sit a little lower than clinchers.

There is also significant differences between clinchers; for example, 25 mm Veloflex Corsas are significantly lower in height than 25 mm Continental GP4000 and Michelin Pro4.
