this thing looks pretty sweet, big tires, optional cantilever brakes, I like.

Gorgeous bike. But probably not for CX: with a 380 fork and those HT lengths it's super low Not to mention the HTA and STA

I don't think they meant CX like CX racing, more like Riding through the park drunk CX.

I've seen that thing around SF during development. I think the canti posts are more for slowing down while loaded instead of trying to skid stop.

I've been thinking about a raw/clear finish for my next bike. Marin does something similar with a sandblast/matte clear on their Pine Mountain and Four Corners anniversary bikes. You lose the heat/scorching but still highlight the brazed bits.

Clear over bare steel doesn't hold up over time, ask any frame builder. Serious durability/rust issues without a primer coat.

Also, I'm pretty sure the scorch marks around the brazed areas of the frame are completely artificial, added post brazing with a torch to give it that "sweet scorched look....bro." When you braze with brass or silver, the entire joint and surrounding tubing is coated with flux, which keeps the metal clean and protects it from oxidation/scorch marks like you see on that fork crown.

Just another frame from MASH placing form before function if you ask me.

My 2c, save yourself $400+ and buy an all city nature boy instead ;)

I am pretty sure that this thing doesn't have eyelets, right? That was a dealbreaker for me.

Speaking of Cinelli, this bike, in addition to being ugly, has one of the worst names ever:

Cinelli Bootleg Hoy Hoy Rats (http://www.wiggle.co.uk/cinelli-bootleg-hoy-hoy-rats-2016-1/)

That is odd isn't it? It pulls the brake nearly as much sideways as it does in line.

Seen a couple in the flesh. They're definitely fun.

Ones I've seen don't have that funky rear canti mount though.
