A riding pal recently ran into a famous pro cyclist and I thought I'd post the picture here and see if you know who this is. It's not hard to figure out...

Clearly Bernard believes in the advantages of aero frames.

IMHO, he is so famous that doubt he is even paying for his stuff.

From what he's said in interviews, Bernard's only just recently picked the bike back up.

Still don't trust that smile.... but sure was fun watching him. I still go back and watch those TDF's. he was rediculous.

Giant was one of the sponsors of the ride. I am sure he rode whatever they gave him.

I really wanted to go but ended up being out of town this past weekend.

Look at those spacers. Fun to see one of the greatest cyclists ever with what 3 inches of spacers under the stem!

I wanted to make some kind of spacer joke too, looks like I got beat to the punch.

Just doing a google image search of him he kind of looks like the type that would have trouble on most of the stock plastic frames.. big legs, perhaps smaller torso. His femur looks huge in the picture in this thread.

He doesn't have much drop to the bars in most of the old pictures.. even less than Lemond who also seemed to run fairly low amounts of drop.

He can have as many spacers as he wants under that stem. He not only earned every one of them, but I'm not going to be the guy who tells him his bike looks funny.
