Ci?c serial numbers

I have a Ciocc that I bought about a year ago. I cannot find a serial number on it. Since I recently had a bike stolen, I would like to have some sort of permanent marking on it identifying it as mine. Any ideas?

I don't know about Ciocc specifically, but I've had old frames with serial numbers on the bottom bracket shell that couldn't be read under the paint. Not suggesting you remove the paint, but it might be there. Also, if you pull the fork, sometimes you can find a serial number on the steerer tube.

I don't think my Ciocc has a serial number either. You could engrave the fork steerer with your own identifying number. You could put your name on a piece of paper and put it in the seat tube. I would take some good pics, especially ones that include any paint flaws or other distinguishing marks. Wouldn't hurt to have your car's license plate in the background or something else identifiable that indicates you had possession when the pics were taken.
