I'm trying to decide how to price a bike for sale. I can't find any that have sold.
Should I just price it what the frame and group would be sold for? Not sure what to do.

If you start telling us the brand and model that could help.

Desirability. Some limited edition bikes are not desirable and the price is the same (or worse) than the normal version.

Cool bike. Sadly, it's probably worth more parted out.

If you would like to sell it complete, one approach would be to take a bunch of great pictures of the bike, write up a nice narrative about the history of TVT, their connection to Lemond with this model, the Mavic parts group, and general reference to that era of cycling. List it on eBay with a LOW starting price and a reserve that meets the minimum of what you're willing to accept and see what happens.

I like bike trikes idea.

Buy it now with offers.

Lemond is way more popular than before and I've always had good luck with that method.

I don't want to get into specific bikes or prices but if you want to PM me I'll discuss.

I'm not into lemonds too much eventohught had a bilatto one a few years back, but this TVTs are really hard to fine, hard to find back in the day, harder now.

The nice about this one is that has maybe a full mavic groupset and even the saddle that match the era of the bike.

Price? well thats so relative, but you wont get thousand of thousand of dollars for it. At this repect I think this bike can bring more as a whole than being sold in parts, the reason is because those frames eventhought are super rare never seen one sold for a lot, remember one in another color and brand being sold for like for 150 bucks at ebay like a year ago maybe.

Some brands and models depreciate less than other ones.

How much do you want to get back from it? do you have a number in your head?

I'm guessing texbike is right about it being worth more parted out. I've lived to regret parting out the (two or three) original bikes I've parted. At this stage, I value them more complete than the market does, even parted.

If you decide to part and the bike has a Mavic 351 bar, I'd be interested. It's the one original Mavic part I'm missing for my 1992 R1000.

Whatever the market will bear. How much do you want/need, dollar wise?

Start high and modify if no/little interest. I think that bike could be worth some real $. Easily in the 4 figure range. Look at the one behind Greg. I know yours isn't his bike but still, replica.

Especially that crankset. Nice.

...really nice bike, but what makes u think it's a limited edition as opposed to just a hard to find team replica? I saw several of these roll through the shop when I was wrenching in early 90s...I think I would consider only those that came with the team decals as "limited edition"

Just for fun, here are his two 1989 ADR Team bikes (@ Rapha NYC).

The bike is 41 of 300 the was made to celebrate his 89 worlds win. It has never been ridden. The tires have never been glued. Everything is exactly like he had his bike setup. The only parts not like he had it are the seat post and saddle. The saddle in the picture it not what came with it. I do have it though.

Oh, wow! In that case, DO NOT part it out. Stick it up on ebay with appropriate pictures, narrative, and a reserve price that makes sense for you. Have it end on a Sunday Evening and see what happens. Ebay is going to give you the broadest audience and a true idea of its market value.

Good luck with the sale!

Here's Lemond's bike:

The sig and number on the frame bump the value up a bit and "save" this bike as "normal" TVTs are not in demand bikes in the least:

Here's my barely ridden near mint TVT w/full Campy 9spd Record I sold for less then $1000, I think it was between $700-$900.

It seems like the best way would be eBay.

The only problem is I don't have an eBay account.

Ebay can be a good route to take. I personally start them high and gradually lower my price. I have a lotus super pro aero with complete dura ace ax and all original with the exception of hoods and tires that I haven't gotten an offer over 1050. It's around Christmas so there are a lot of lookers out there right now and I have sold 3 bikes in the the last couple of weeks on there.

It's easy to open an account, but I would sell some other items first. It's not a good idea to sell a high-dollar item with zero or low numbers of sales.
