I recently purchased wheels with A23 rims and used a set of Ritchey plastic (stretch) tape 17mm wide but it seemed to interfere with the Vittoria Pave tires I put on it and wouldn't seat evenly . I noticed when I took the tires back off the tape had shifted and was higher on one side. Seeking suggestions on rim tape and width for these rims. Thanks,Bob

Something wide and sticky...Pacenti or OrangeSeal...2 layers for clinchers.

I bought some directly from velocity. They recommend 2 layers for road pressures higher than 45 psi.

I have used the yellow stuff too.

And depending on tires and which evolution of A23, I have found mounting tires a bitch. One of these can be your very best friend:

That's the same as this:

I've used it on SL25s and Archetypes without issue. I did have to trim the width a bit.

3M blue film tape. A double-wrap weighs 10g and works for tubeless too. Way cheaper than branded rim tapes.

Hey Eddie, these rubberized form fitting gloves make mounting tires a breeze. I had problems mounting the Vittoria Paves but instead levers I wear these gloves that give you much better holding leverage to mount tires without having to worry about pinch.

BTW I just ordered another New Albion Privateer that I'll be building up to sell. I need to pay off some credit debt I'm sure to incur this Xmas and these bikes sell well locally for all rounder /commuters.

Zipp's thin red rim tape. I have A23's and have no problems with the Conti (4000 or 4-Season) or Vittoria (CX) tires. Only need 1 tire lever to pop the initial bead off. Can usually mount them by hand, no tire lever needed.

expensive, but I like the HED ones.

My clinchers are wider than A23's. I use the Zipp white tape. Works fine.
