I'm looking for a short pull lever for my fixed gear bike. I use bullhorn bars, so I need a flat bar lever. I'm currently using a Cane Creek Crosstop lever, which doesn't perform as well as I'd like. Long downhills are a killer.

Besides Paul, any other flat bar levers out there that would fit road bars? Again, these "inline cross" levers don't work so well, so I'd like to avoid those. Thanks.

EDIT: Looks like VO makes some. Not fond of that company so I'll keep that in my back pocket while looking for other options.

There's always the DIY approach: take a hone and hog out the inside of some mtn bike brake levers.

...or get it done at a machine shop.

What is your issue with VO?

Why not use a TT lever?

Beat me to it..unless the OP spends all/most of his time with hands next to stem.

I thought of getting those, but while I spend most of the ride on the "hoods," I like sitting back and getting the weight off of the hands for braking. It feels better, especially on dirt/bumpy roads. Thanks for the input, though.

No issue with the products. Just a few unnecessarily snooty email responses from the owner that just rubbed me the wrong way. I'd expect something like that from Riv, but surprised it came from VO. I'm not writing them off because of it, but if there are other options, I'll seek them out first.

thanks for the explanation. I have felt that way about other businesses.
