Anyone go with bigger (32-40) tires on H Plus Son Archetype rims? Any issues?

I have ran much bigger tires on much smaller wheels. No issues. I have put a 700x45 Panaracer Firecross on an archtype. Works fine.

Rumour has it that they're putting out a wide clincher rim in early next year. If you can wait, it'd be a good idea!

I doubt you will have any problem in that range (32-40) major pal

I'm putting 40mm Kenda Happy Medium tires on my Campy Neutrons tomorrow. The neutron's outside rim dimension is 21mm. The rims on my 12 year old stumpjumper are 22mm. The stumpjumper has 2 inch tires. Granted the inside dimension is what matters. But using the outside as a surrogate, I doubt either of us will ever see an issue.

I've got a buddy who is riding on archetypes and Compass Stampede Passes (32) with no problem.

TFK(Todd Foreman Kinder) Wheels, local Portland OR, good guy, great wheel builder, nothin' fancy, certainly not the Sugar Wheels aesthetic shop wise but definitely in quality of build.

I've done the Clement MSO 40s on mine. Good, but not great so got some WTB rims for those and will run road tires and Michelin Jet 30s on the Archetype.

I've run 38s and 42s on these as well, no issues at all.

Compass Stampede Pass 32s, Barlow Pass 38s and Schwalbe Marathon 2.0s (measure about ~45mm) and all were fine. I like the Archetype very much, great rim. That said, at the extremes (high speed handling) both the Stampede and Barlow felt better, or maybe I should say, more responsive on my 25mm HED+. I know, only ~2mm, but it was noticeable and they are similar builds.

I've ran (and raced) Bruce Gordon 700x43 tires on Open Pro's with no issues.

I've run tires ranging from 32mm to 38mm on my Archetypes and all handled well. I've gone through Stampede Passes, Pasela 32s, Clement USH 35s and am now riding Vittoria Voyager Hyper 35s, which measure closer to 38mm.

I'm dreading having to take off the Voyagers to fit fenders on. They soak up the bumps, generally feel relatively bombproof, but still roll fast. Thanks to modernfuturist for recommending them.
