Hi all,

I'm thinking of dipping my toe in the compact crank pond and have a front deraullier question.

Can a Dura Ace 7800 front derauiller (double) work with a FSA Compact Crank 50/34 ? Or, do I need to buy a different front derauiller? If so, which front derauiller should I buy?

If this has been gone over before, I apologize for the redundant question. I havent paid much attention to compact cranks, but I have a complete Dura Ace 7800 group (double) and would like some more versatility for hill climbing. I found a real steal on a Seven Axiom and want to use it for commuting to work and then maybe a bit of hill climbing after work.

Rather than get a whole new group (triple) I thought I'd try the compact crank "double" route.

As always, thank you all in advance for your knowledge and experience,

Steve

I have a 7800 with the FSA 50/34 compact crank and love it. Easy to set up you just have to lower the front deraullier a few mm's. This setup saved my knees and i got to avoid a triple, you just need to shift down a cog or two before going to the small chainring.

Enjoy the experiment.
