This is pretty funny. Though, a project likely undertaken for the sole purpose of getting in the guinness book, I can still appreciate how absurd and fun it must have been to actually fabricate this. I think with all that real estate between the riders... they could have been a bit more creative with the use of space.

Yes technically it's a bike but I would disqualify it, it's not a bike unless you can catch some air on it. That would be my criteria for the longest bike, if you can get both wheels off the ground at the same time its legit.

I have a mountain bike on which I attached a rear triangle from another mountain bike...it's pretty long, but not enough for the record books. It might actually be useful though.

Fender on the rear wheel but not on the front. Clearly not a daily rider in a wet city. Hard to lock up at the train station too.

Sure, but the longest lugged bike is still the Schwinn Traveler.

Yeah, but who would steal it?

Also, can you imagine how many sets of S&S couplers it would require to fit that thing into suitcases?

Considering they used a forklift while assembling it, I'd be more worried about carrying the suitcase(s) once it's in there.

For the same reason a dog licks itself in inappropriate places.

Where did they source the rear "wheel"? a steam roller?

I'm in support of engineering challenges like this, but that is a glorified tricycle. To qualify as a bicycle, it should not be self balancing.
