New bike, perfect day

With some counsel from Ofcounsel I bought a 2013 Pivot Mach 429C via Pinkbike classified. Got it out today on a perfect late fall day, riding the woods and a short stretch on the beach. Awesome evolution from my '99 Litespeed!

Got one just like it. Coming up on 2 yrs old and about 4,000 miles. It hasn't skipped a beat and is a joy to ride - and can handle most anything. Best bike I've ever had.

Not only does it roll over stuff I couldn't before - there's something about the geometry and design that has me feeling as though I am sitting in the bike rather than on top of it. It could be that it is a Small. From small to large the HT goes up 1.8 cm as the TT goes up 4.5 cm, so the large may not have that same feel. The bars are up something like 6.5 cm over my 90s MTBs.
