Not sure if this ever happened to you before....I was riding the other day in my neighborhood around a hilly part of the route. I was lost in my thoughts and descended a pretty steep hill that usually requires me to pay attention to the speed I was going...but I don't remember doing any of that and before I knew it, I was already at the foot of the hill cruising at 25 mph on the straightaway. I tried to recall any details of the descent but came up nothing. I mean, I seriously just plain don't remember. I went back and looked at the video capture of that ride...it was almost like a full-minute of "lost in time"!:eek::eek:

That happens to me pretty often actually.

I think it's the weed.

so you rode a route that you rode many times and you were deep in thought about something else and you just reacted to the road conditions. from the video, there was nothing memorable, so your brain just deleted the information that was not memorable...

Weisan, you don't happen to use sleep aids like Ambien, do you? If so, that could explain such an episode.

+1 I have "come to" on night rides and it has taken me a minute or two to figure out where I was.

Many of us love the moments but if a driver does the same we would not be so happy.

only once, but I wasn't riding, and my buddy Jack Daniels was with me.

Happens to me when I'm doing something that I've done a million times before, like driving to work. Your brain goes on auto-pilot and you just drive the route, without really thinking about it.

Happens to me a lot when foliage cover changes. And, yeah, combined with some THC.

Ya.

Regulate route plus deep thinking after yields lost time.

No... he only lost 1 minute. Aliens would have been 9 minutes.

The 1 min estimate was based on him going back and reviewing the video. Digitally recorded video is just about the easiest thing for aliens to manipulate (almost as easy as the human mind and memory).

True. He needs to check his watch - it'll still be 9 minutes "slow"

Weisan got lucky - it could have been a lot worse:
