i'm in vegas, no snow, little sand, but have been itching to pick up a fat bike. While i'm really a road bike guy, with more than my share, i do have a few mt bikes: ellsworth 29er, Periera (Tony) 29er hard tail single speed, and an older trek.
I think i've decided to go the newer 3 inch tire'd trek Stache: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/mountain/trail/stache/stache_9/

question is, i'd like to get it towards 25 lbs--weighed one, 18.5 inch, at dealer at 30lbs, 9 oz. i was thinking i'd order frame only and build it up. but i'm have second thoughts--bluto fork drops half lb, but reviews on the manitou are good--first fork designed specifically for wider tires etc. I could knock of some by upgrading to xx1 as well, etc, etc.
big question, CAN ANYONE DIRECT ME, what's out there as far as wheels and tires for these. i was hoping a few lbs could be shed with wheel/tire choice.
really a new area for me, thoughts and advice is appreciated.

thanks.
