that best be red bartape going on there.

you could go crazy and hit a colour matched tape job - red and blue, perf leather!

I think that frame would look better with a white saddle and white bar tape.

The only way you will tie it in is with red bar tape...

FlashUNC

Nope.

Only shot at making it work is color matched tape, which seems unlikely.

White/white or black/black. Those are your choices I'm afraid.

That saddle is pretty bright red. If that photo is not been Photoshopped it is as saturated a red that is reminiscent of Kodachrome 25 shot underexposed by a 1/3 of a stop. The camera buffs will know what I'm talkin' about.

The red saddle picks up and extends on the little bit of red trim on the frame. I think you will need to balance off the saddle with red bartape to balance it off and it might be tough to find a hue as bright as the saddle. But it's not a painting, it's a bike - so close in color is good enough. As bright a red as you can get. The red becomes the centerpiece color over black. Ignore the blue. Less is more.

It's going to look KILLER.

This.

White saddle and matching white tape is so... predictable.

the perforated blue romin saddle would have worked really nice in there as well.

I vote for red fizik bar tape. It will look great!

Don't listen to "Bright Colors Scare Me" types. This reminds me of when we sold our house to a flipper. The interior was painted in pretty bold but gorgeous colors...the flipper shot everything with beige. I wanted to puke.
It'll look effin AWESOME. Not to mention it'll match your chamois when you wear your shorts inside out...but I digress.
Red yellow and black are the colors to go for.

If that was a Romin I would have bought it.

+1 the Fizik Microtex should be a good match...finish with white tape.

I vote for red fizik bar tape. It will look great!

My honest opinion is that it won't look great. It's a bike so it won't really matter, but I don't think it's going to be a head turner, even with matching red tape.

Sure as a baboon's ass is red it will work.

Inconsequential? I am there!

Maybe, blue bar tape...

Avincent52
11-03-2015, 10:27 AM
It'll work, but you will need either red bar tape or red hoods.
And, of course, if it's not working for you, sell it and buy a black one.

This white saddle/white tape trend is ridiculous IMHO.

A white saddle only works if you don't plan on riding the bike and white tape is only slightly more practical.

Yes, with either (brighter) red tape or blue tape.

Those headset spacers need to go, though.

I would be tempted to try black tape and red hoods.

Red is an accent color on your fame; introducing a red saddle will compete by drawing your attention to the saddle first. I wouldn't go red.

I would be tempted to try black tape and red hoods.

This sounds like it would look pretty good.

Otherwise, I like the idea of light blue tape. I think red tape would take it over the top.

I think it will look pretty cool with the Red saddle and... I would even put some light Blue Cinelli bar tape on to bring the colors out even more.

With that said put the Red saddle on and whatever bar tape you want and ride the heck out of that thing!!! :D

the funny part is that i do have one of those baby blue Romins in my parts bin. i'll give the red a shot and see how it looks.

Oh mercy alive, no. Those shoes suitable only to a woman cavorting with a stripper pole or hustling cheap hotels in Vegas..

A guy of AS's class would only be seen with a woman wearing these:

yes to all who voted red. get the fizik red gloss not the standard red. maybe lizard skins if you do not like fizik

Fizik once offered an all red arione cx carbon. occasionally I lament not grabbing one since would have literally been the cherry on top and instead went with black/red center stripe and fizik gloss tape

Do it! Resolution on our screens is rarely if ever as something appears in natural light so I think you have a very good chance of finding a matching tape.

Red saddle, red bar tape, Blue cable housings.

Another vote for "IT WILL LOOK AWESOME."

I wouldn't go with blue cables. Too much. For most bikes, I prefer not to draw attention to cables. White works sometimes. Most times, black is best.

Red bar tape on one side and white on the other.

(If Sven Nys can do it you can too)

I think it will work, I kind of like the above mentioned black tape (maybe black handlebra with red highlight stitching) with matching red hoods though.

No, that won't work. But you don't lose much by trying.

I have a few strongly-held opinions that I'd like to share with the understanding that they aren't indictments of people who disagree or statements of judgment; different people think different things look good.

1. Non-black (colored, white, gum, whatever) hoods always look worse than black.
2. Frames that are not a single color look best with a black or white saddle, even when they have colored bar tape, which is not a crime.
3. It is impossible to build a carbon bike that doesn't look good with all black components and gumwall tires with black tread.

What matters is whether you like how the bike looks, but I probably wouldn't given the above.

black seatpost (is that assumed, all you carbon guys?), black stem/bars/tape, red finishing tape, red bar plugs, red housing.

no colored housing!!

My $0.02 for saddle color: There's a small chance red will be awesome, but I'm nearly certain that white will be very good.

The gloss may be too bright. Here's a pic I just took. The regular red mark posted in your wtb looks closer to the saddle
