View Full Version : Anyone know much about old Klein's?
Looking for data on the late eighties/early nineties road frames, in specific the Criterium.
Specifically I am wondering if a conventional 31.8mm front mech clamp would work (I have been told it's a proprietary clamp, my verniers put the tube dia at 32mm however), and what dia seatpost am I going to need?

1990 catalog implies 1.25" FD and 27.4 seatpost:

See the custom frames section for Criterium description and components list.
I would trust your calipers on the FD clamp size. The 1989 catalog backs up the 27.4 seatpost size, specifically listing 27.4 C-Record, Chorus, DA EX, AC, and IRD posts in the custom section.
Thanks for that. Looks like I need a .2mm shim for my seatpost. Damn.

Sheldon agrees @ 27.4:

Meant to post this earlier but got distracted....
I've got some 0.1mm brass shim stock, I'll use that. Boom! Thanks Paceline.
