View Full Version : Rear ended today- everyone's fine but my Team SC might be toast :(

I had my Team SC on a rear rack today and was rear-ended on my way to work. I'm fine and my car suffered some damage to the trunk but isn't totaled, so overall it went pretty okay but...

The car impacted my bike at the crank on the drive side and the crank is definitely ruined. The frame seems to be out of alignment and I see something that could be a crack on the chainstay. I'm taking it to a shop for a proper inspection after work today.

Preemptively: goodnight, sweet prince.

Sandy, sorry to hear... Be on the look out for whiplash, neck pain, concussion, etc.

Pain and suffering law suit for the loss of that bike.

Haha. The thought crossed my mind.

Will definitely be paying extra close attention to aches and pains this week- though I was already sore pre-collision due to this weekend's racing!

Put yer bike on the roof, you're liable to smack the garage.

Put yer bike on the back, you're liable to be rear ended.

I saw a 55 Chevy this weekend tooling down the highway with a bike strapped to the front. No rack, mind you, just bungied on there.

Maybe that's the ticket.

Still sucks about your bike, though.

Older athletes look so much better in a well tailored suit and tie.

That's heartbreaking, at least all the people are ok. That driver's insurance owes you a new bike. Get an even nicer one if that's possible!
