This is beautiful work (at least to my untrained eye). My pedestrian question is....is he "simply" creating/improving his own lugs with fillets to tubing that he's worked? I really like the finished product. Very different.

Taken from the comments on FB:
Demon Frameworks I braze the lug tubes together with brass, then I carve the lug shape. After that I use silver to braze in the frame tubes.

I think he is making his own lugs. I know Tom does this @ Spectrum on his steel frames

Thanks, jr. I guess I should have searched FB instead of the website. ;)

Resurrecting an old thread but its relevant - has anyone recently got a frame built; or put in a deposit but have not been updated by/ heard from Tom since?

Not a frame, but if it helps at all, I bought a jacket from him about four months ago. It was promptly delivered with a nice thank you from Tom. He had sent tracking in a previous email.

Some cool stuff on his page. I'll never understand why a business makes it so difficult to figure out their location though.

The guy is a total character. Met him at NAHBS 2016. Straight out of a Hunter Thompson novel. Had a bunch of middle-aged male groupies fawning all over him. Definitely worked the "cool" factor. Only other builder in the same hipster realm is the guy from Black Cat bikes.

How's the jacket? I'm looking for a new spring / fall casual jacket and I'd like to know your thoughts!

I reached out to Tom since I had a memorable interchange with him in 2016. He responded very promptly. This is what he wrote:

"Over the past two years I have had a series of injuries and health problems that have serverly slowed down my framebuilding. For that reason I have only delivered/completed/shipped out a handful of frames and have not taken on any new customers. I focused on my other products in order to stay in business. However during this time I developed a nasty habit of not responding to framebuilding enquiries. My health is much better now albeit with 30% less vision in one eye and I’m keen to get back into framebuilding. But with a focus on the new model. The new model I am developing is totally different. Much more simple with a focus on function above anything else."

In case anybody else wants to know about the jacket, I pulled this from a PM to Turkle, and took a quick shot in case anybody was wondering about fit:

It is a nice jacket. The cloth is heritage midweight British canvas with a smooth face, much like an unwaxed Barbour, but slightly smoother. The fit is tailored and trim. It looks good with slim-fit pants. I am 6', 185# wear trim large or regular medium shorts, with slightly broader shoulders than the usual Rapha cyclist and a Large fits well but with little room for a midlayer. There are some cycling-specific features I will never use, such as a drop-doen tail and vented back. It is well made and a nice jacket. I hope this is useful info. If you need more, or measurements let me know.

Thanks for sharing this.
Indeed it is tough to be a solo one-man show.

The new model name "Noodle" is not particularly inspiring though!

Do you use it on the bike though? Seems heavy
Curious on why you mentioned the last two features not being useful (for you).

Thanks, in no hurry. Just that communication could have been better.

Rob English and especially David Kirk did great at this aspect.

I view it more as a fashion/wear-around garment. It would be very heavy to be wearing riding unless you were doing a leisurely commute in a drizzly English town.
That being said, I grab for it often when the temps here are in the 40s to 50s.
