Any suggestions for a good training diary to use on a Macintosh? I have been using The Athlete's Diary, but it runs on classic and does not seem real happy about entering data past April 30 of this year. Thanks

Andy, it was me :)

JEK,

The best software for the Mac that works with Polar Monitors is Otag's "I Smart Train", you can purcahse it and read about it here: http://www.ismarttrain.com/. IMO, is just as complete and accurate as Polar's.

I have used it in the past and it works great. One word of caution, you MUST use a serial (not USB) IR receiver. The USB will not work on the Mac. But since the Mac does not support serial ports, get a serial to USB adapter. I tried all kinds in vain, until I found the Keyspan device. It is the best in the market. Hopefully, Otag will support the USB dongle in the future...

Now, with these new Intel Processor Macs, you can certainly load Windows and use the native Polar Software. But I don't think it is worth the hassle and cost, since the Otag software is cheap, if you compare it to the cost of Windows.
