And if you do, how do you use it to move your bikes around? I have a miata and a Honda Fit. The only reason I ever take the Honda anywhere is because I'm moving a bike. I've been throwing around the idea of tossing a hitch/rack on the miata and selling the Honda. Thoughts?

a bike locked in a Fit is out of the weather and somewhat protected from thieves.

One of the coaches our velodrome has a fork block near the back seats of her Miata; not sure where but I can check Thursday. She often has one bike upright like that and one stashed behind the seats.

I'm dumping the Yakima for a 1UP USA Quik Rack.

Oh, and I drive it all year round:

Ha right -- "back of the seats" I meant to say. She has two fork mounts on the stabilizer bar http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p250/cecilhayduke/miata.jpg

I have a S2000 as my only vehicle. I bought a 1UP USA hitch rack for it.

I'd still keep the Fit.

I don't have a Miata now, but I used to have a rack similar the one in the pic. Worked fine, but I never too it anywhere where the bike could be stolen.

Might this be the replacement for the VW Sportwagen?

I used a rack made by Bird Automotive on an Audi TT. They don't list one for the Miata, but you might want to give them a call. The designer is in Connecticut.

You can install a "hidden hitch" on the Miata that can accept a receiver mount for a bike rack. Just be careful on the install and don't hang more than two bikes on the rack.
Plenty of info on the Miata forums.
