after 20 pages of google, i surrender. anyone know where i can get a schwinn stingray in coppertone online? no one seems to sell and ship. help? yes i'm grown up and yes it's for me. i'm selling my single speed bianchi guss and need a rig for summertime beer runs on main street and through venice.

Tell him Josh sent you. He's a fast talker (think massive ADD rather than plain rude) but a good dewd and he knows the old bike biz.

Not to put a point on in chief but that won't work. Call him at work and hold the phone about 1 foot from your ear. I know my guy.

Is that the real thing or a repro?

it's a 2006 reissuse from schwinn. they blast out about a zillion of them in china and then change the colors and call it a limited run. they do manage to sell out. it costs 209 large. free shipping, no sales tax. i was serious about thinking an all carbon one would rock.. but i'm weird like that.. i likes irony.

I found the copper stingray on ebay for 600 or so...

on a different line...Mr. Strong has an interesting take on a ti mtb...I like it...(In a 26 rather than a 29r) of course...it's ti not CF...I'd hate to say it would make a beautiful cruiser...but it would!

I had one of those in purple as a kid -- what a blast, white banana seat and all. It had this 2-speed rear hub that changed gears by partially braking. We used to ride as fast as we could and slam on the brakes then compare skid marks from our slick tires.

I struck up a conversation at Wheelworks with the guy who owns (and was riding) the Newsboy prototype. He was an unusual guy...

The bike was singular, and spectacular - It was exquisitely fabricated and, at the same time, very goofy. It's like nothing else I've ever seen. Imagine if e-RICHIE made his own Sting-Ray - It was like that.
