If only I could be 13 and not just act like I am. :-)
I've done two tours with my son.
In June 2011, ACA's Cycle the (Columbia River) Gorge, six days and ~350 miles. He rode a bike I'd originally bought to carry him in a baby seat, then later to pull a trailer containing him and his sister (junior by 2 years). A fully supported camping tour, great organization, unbelievable food, spectacular scenery. He was a rising high school senior. This fundamentally changed our relationship, for the good.
In July 2015, Boston suburbs to Montreal, five days, ~320 miles. Lightly loaded , staying in inns, motels, and hotels. He'd just graduated university.
This is a great activity to do with your kid(s). I cannot recommend it highly enough. Looking forward to the next one - maybe Atlantic Canada.

Thank you for posting that. I'm going to show it to my son, who keeps getting new bikes and only riding them a dozen times.

I don't have a son but i sure had an awesome dad for not near long enough. Cheers to all the dads!
(Even though my mom taught me to ride a bike)

If I can take what I know now back and start again, hell yes. But I wouldn't change anything that I achieved, just done it with less f*ck ups and invested my pocket money in Apple shares, and I would accept that scholarship to Notre Dam.
