Take a ti bike, put 12,000 miles on it - bring it back to it's maker for a refinish. New Bike!!!!!

The team at firefly made my bike even better. Will post in the proper image gallery, but suffice it to say it looks sick. Just took her out for a ride. Was so giddy got 2 top ten strava segments (if that's your thang). Those wheels, they be Elder Spud built Ambrosia wheels.

Is that the contest where you fast for a week and then try to beat the times of everyone else who has been eating normally?

Sexy bike, btw!

I wanted a bit more pop to it - so they did a full refinish and it now has panels on the DT and ST and then they did a fade with my family's names on the TT and they also put some icons on the inside chainstay. I'll post the detailed pics, but given the milage on the frame the refinish made it look brand spanking new.

You're not on starve!!!!! Basically it's strava - except on sidewalks and really, really short segments complete with bunnyhops.

Aside from the entire frame getting a refinish (and it does look brand new)

We got panels on the DT and ST (pic 1)

My family name icons on the TT got this mad sick fade that Tyler made the design (pic 2)

All the firefly sig icons on the inside chain stay (pic 3)

12K miles or 120K miles? Just curious because if it needed a refinish at 12K you are hard on your bikes and if you've already put 120K on a Firefly you are hard on your body.

Love it - I wish this fool (me) had enough money that I needed to part with to buy a 29" FF - guess I'll just beat around on my ERIKSENS- Have fun

12k miles. It didn't 'need' a refinish. My N+1 affliction is one where I have an inner desire to constantly change the variable N. I always want a different bike.

The refinish totally put that inner drive at rest and dang if the frame don't look brand spanking new.

That would be the OP, judging by height and the grin.I think he meant the guy to Tyler's left in the photo (i.e., other than Kevin and Jamie, who's the other guy?). I think that's the new guy FF hired to help with finishing. I can't recall his name.

I've said it before and I say it again here, the problem with Firefly's finishes is that they have so many cool ideas that it makes one want several bikes from them just to have multiple finishes. Or I suppose do what velomonkey did and send the frame back from time to time for a refresh. Very nicely done.

Oh . . . his name is Daniel and, yes, he is their new finisher and so far his finishes look awesome.

Looks great. Enjoy it. Nobody does ti-graphics like FF do.

Along the same thought process as you have done here, I've considered sending my Eriksen back to be refreshed/refitted for Campagnolo EPS internal wiring.

Velo, how much was it?

A couple Benjamins, beet.

HaHa! Was it greater than 4.45 Benjamin's?

That is the blessed state of being in this sport, hobby and pastime and the good fortune in having the opportunity to choose to spend on things like this. It made perfect sense to you to do this. And if anybody else thought it outrageous or offensive to spend as you did on this, you likely couldn't care less what they thought.

It is all good. All done in service of the ride.

Altho not an Eriksen..I've talked to Butch at Moots about doing the 5/16 drill gig on my Vamoots for EPS and he said, no problema. He even offered to come down from the mountain to do it..as long as I supplied the post work beer...

If you're being literal and this was $200 holy cow.

Serotta would have charged you what, $700-1000 for a job that wasn't nearly that intricate?

It looks pretty dang awesome.

My favorite part about these is the bike looks intricate and incredibly blingy from 3 feet away but from much further away it look pretty stealth.

Nope ;)

Regarding EPS - I thought of the same thing myself. I gotta think they are going to wireless or some variation thereof (e.g., wireless shifters, but battery stays in post connected only to the derailleurs). Anyway, FF can take off the derailleur mounts when the time comes.

Having been on carbon and EPS the last two weeks I can already tell I am gonna be longing for EPS once again.
