Why oh why does this have to be my size. Must resist. That fork crown . . . every detail!

I agree that's a beauty, and just my size too. Curt built a roadie for me last winter and I can't ride it enough (and I ride it a lot). Two would simply be too much!

It's very pretty, but if I'm dropping 3800...wouldn't I want it custom? I guess at least you know it's really built in this case.

An absolutely valid point. But in this case, you don't have to wait, and it truly is a one-of-a-kind frameset: "I built this frame to commemorate my 20th year of working as a frame builder. This is the only commemorative frame that I will build for my 20th anniversary."

Yeah . . . I guess you could say that any custom frameset is "one-of-a-kind," but if this one fits, it is unique in ways beyond just the geometry.

It is very cool and very beautiful. I love the fork crown.

Is it unfair to ask if he's earned back enough goodwill after the debacles of 2010? After hearing some of those horror stories I wouldn't be comfortable giving Goodrich money until after he had placed the frame in my hands.

But damn, he builds a beautiful bike.

There are others who build beautiful bikes and who didn't cause others so much grief. Has he ever formally apologized, or supplicated himself? It would take that for me.

It really is a gorgeous frame though...in terms of aesthetics he's always been right at the top for me.

Move on, people. That was then, this is now. He has the good faith of many people now (I am sure including people he might have crossed at some point) and I think a formal apology to each and every person would be ridiculous.

My guess is that he is a good guy who made a few bad business decisions, retreated to collect his thoughts and refocus and is now back at it with a new perspective, but making the same incredible frames as before.

This one is also my size and stunning. I love it.

Extremely nice looking frame. Way to costly tho.

I agree. When calling a person out, one would be wise to heed the old adage about walking in that person's moccasins.

It's a gorgeous frame and I love the Saronni-esque look.

Regarding price, how much are the top builders charging these days for custom steel?

i'd take a kirk built just for me all day long vs. paying $3800 for that.

and that fork crown...blech.

here's my idea of a beautiful candy apple red frame with a delicious fork crown:

I like the crown but then I would also strongly consider mounting a 2015 campagnolo carbon crankset on the frame so what do I know?

I would as well.

I get to see more of Curt's bikes locally as I live in the Twin Cities. Two of the guys I ride with have CGs and they are truly beauties.

We are spoiled rotten having builders like Curt, Chris Kvale, Dave Anderson and others amongst us here in town.

This 20th frameset is gorgeous, but I am already spoiled by having a couple of Chris Kvales to enjoy.

Can't justify another road frameset at the moment, but this one would likely fit quite well......

Wow! I love it in all respects, including the weirdo crown. That color is stunning. Fortunately it doesn't fit me . . .

And as for Curt, I would be more than comfortable trusting him to build me a bike. Nobody's perfect, but this gentleman has a proven track record of making beautiful things. I happen to be flush with wonderful bikes, so can't justify a custom, but if I were going down that road it's very likely he would be my builder of choice.
