For making a custom miniature and really cool road bike for my better half.

I was getting all my gear out to brew a big batch of Citra pale ale when fedex showed up.

Been waiting all week for this delivery.

Out of the box:

Dirty light assembly pic. And I mean dirty. This little fire engine red bike was dirtier than a two dollar hooker after a hard nights work.

Lest that head tube junction leads you to believe this is a normal road bike, here it is with my s3:

Needs some proper cages (came with tacx) but cleaned up nicely! Just a few nicks and wear areas from casual riding, it looks to be in great shape.

I need to take it for a shakedown ride ( that should be a riot to see) then to see if she'll ride it!

Now I'm thinking maybe I need a full size companion to keep it company....hmm.

I didn't realize he was back in the bike making business again. Maybe he can manage the business better this time around.

Oh I don't think he is, at least not as he was.

Sure left some cool bikes as a legacy, though!

He got the bike used. Ben is not in the bike making business as of now.

Now she has a nicer bike than you IMO.
You need to dump that gold headset for a silver one.
One of my customers caught me test riding his bike once. Said I looked like a circus bear riding a tiny bike.

Bro, your girl's bike is way cooler than your bike.:banana::banana:

(as it should be, gotta spend money in the right way - my lady always has a better car than me)

WOW Those drop bars look massive compared to the rest of the bike. So are those 650 wheels or regular 700? Not sure if Mavic even made K's in 650, anyway. And.. what the heck size does it measure? Nice find, btw.

Sweet bike. I don't even hate the gold. I would be tempted to add gold salsa skewers if I found the right price. Combine it with some tan sidewall tires and you may have a good thing going.

Say what you want about Ben's business skills and acumen...

But... we should give him credit for the overall quality of the bikes his company built. Here's a prime example.

I know, and she hates gold. There's a tiny bit of gold in the logo outline...not enough to justify wasting good headsets and stem parts in gold tho, imo.

6fiddys, and it measures 46cm with a 26.5 inch standover height. Measure 26.5 inches on your leg and see where it hits, just for fun :-)

I know, but sadly she'll never know how sweet it is.

How about a pic of it hanging with its real riding partner. Not only is hers better than mine, but the color is more manly too!

There's the Ciocc. Sweetness!

I have a feeling that Serotta will be a very comfortable bike, perfect for someone getting into cycling. I have been trying to get family members into cycling for years, two ended up on tadpole trikes one is still meh on bikes.

This one has been meh on bikes for the longest, until recently when we discussed calories burned on rides,......and her interest peaked.

The trick now is for her to find it fun.

We played golf together and it was horrid.

We played tennis and it was better.

We tried yoga and it was so so.

We'll see what happens here.

LOL. 26.6 is not even half way up my thigh,, and I'm not exactly 'tall' ( do ride a 56 tho). That's crazy small. Somewhere in this site is a pic of a little gal,, I mean both little and young, in a race,, tiny bike like your new one and it's shod in Lightweights LOL. Nothing like aiming to win,, first time out, eh?

I do like the shiny drive train parts on yer new 'S'.

Very cool. Hope she loves it. My kiddo rode off n on with me on our tandem for 3 yrs from when she was ages 7 - 9. Not a rider today, alas.
