Anyone ever ride one? Thoughts? I have always like the looks of this frame.

Surely someone has some first hand knowledge around this beauty?!

I never owned one, just test rode (15yrs ago? +/-). It rode fine for those 5-10 minutes, though wasn't my size. I liked the looks too and I have an sworks sadle to match just laying around in case i find one of these cheap in a 61cm.

These are very nice riding frames. I had a Allez Pro during this era and it was a workhorse.

Are you gunning for the one on ebay with a 52-53cm top tube? Then you have me to deal with!! I'm the current high bidder.

Good luck!

I've heard a lot of praise about these frames. I've heard more than one person say it was one of the best alloy frames they had ridden. I've also heard stories of people who perfered them over the Tarmac that sort of replaced it.

At the time they were good.

Relative to frames like the new CAAD 10 / 12 or several reasonably inexpensive custom jobs? Nah. I'll pass.

I had a couple. I frankly wouldn't bother with one now.

I'll second that motion. I have an '02 E5 S-Works. One of the nicest riding bikes I've owned. Ever. Remember tho, that it was built for small Italian climbers, not the sprinters like Cipo. He didn't like em 'cause they weren't stiff enough.

Its another of those 'out of my cold, dead hands' kind of frames.

I've had an M2 Road Pro (step down from the 1st S-Works), the E5 S-Works, an M4 S-Works, and then a big break from em. In terms of favorites, its the E5, then the M2, then the M4.

S-works m2 road frames were so good looking. The m4 always intrigued me too. Aero before it was cool.

Wait. . . . What. When did aero become cool?

Didn't ride nearly as nicely as the ones on either side tho

Somewhere after fatbikes and before gravel race bikes.

Isn't that how you know it is an aero bike?

I know nuthin' about this frame but wow...it's funny to see my pals using sulfuric acid to burn decals off their ENVE forks or wheels...they gonna have a field day over this frame.

I vote Campagnolo 10 or 11 in carbon and a yellow 3t mutant or something similar of the era.

It's going to be fun building this. I already have a couple of wheelsets I could use, Zipp 404's or some Ksyrium SL's. I'm in no hurry on this one, as the flat is full of bikes as is.

+1. Still use my '03 Allez Pro E5 as a trainer and it's just an all around great ride, durable as hell to boot.
