Starts off with a bang. Froome crashed before getting out of the neutral zone... Going to be a fun one!

Lots of discussion today.

Carlton's dragon has been the most interesting thing so far.

Is it just me or are the moto cameras really close to the riders on this descent?

Riders are getting pissed at them too.

I wouldn't be surprised if the riders didn't self-neutralize tomorrow.

Impressive stage, over 16,000 ft (4800+ M) of climbing.

Yea, I think Froome knows how Contadore felt now.

Geraint says Froome said his legs were fine, but his foot was not.

AC has won "leTour" whilst Froome has only won "le Tour" and no other Grand Tour--AC has won all 3...

In only 86mi or so. BRUTAL! we have a loop in So Cal (Cloudburst) and it's 100mi or so and 10,000ft of climbing. It's tough, mainly because of the exposed elements (No shade, lack of water refill spots). I couldn't imagine doing an extra 7,000ft of climbing and attacks the entire time, or a brutal peloton pace.

That's what makes activities like cycling and golf different. We don't at all think that we could run a 103 yard kickoff return for a touchdown against the Ravens or hit a 430 ft home run against John Lester, but somewhere in our minds we still connect with these elite cyclist and golfers so the thought of what they are doing has us imagine as we are out there, "could I do that?"

At no time has that thought ever crossed my mind. As Clint Eastwood said, "a man has got to know his limitations." I know mine too well.😜

All 3 and more than twice, non considering the ones that did not count :P

The last 4 years Vuelta has been way better as a race than the tour IMO. In the vuelta you never know what will happen. IMO contador made his best crazy attacks and power shows at the vuelta.

Per cyclingnews, http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/froome-out-of-the-vuelta-a-espana-after-checks-reveal-a-fracture-in-his-foot/, Froome fractured his foot in his crash. I'm not a real fan of Froome but I sure respect him a lot more now!
