I envy your road conditions. Riding here in Michigan can be like riding through a war zone.

Wei,

Nice video and pics. Looked like a good time. I'll echo the comment about the roadway conditions being very nice!

I raced both days of CompEdge Cross this weekend- at Forest Park Saturday and Blunt Park Sunday, both in Springfield, MA. I did 4/5 races for both. On Saturday I flatted a tubular on the warmup lap and had to rush to the pit for a replacement, and ended up starting in the back. I still don't know how I finished but the course was super hilly and fun. It was really a blast.

Sunday I raced a 40mm WTB Nano up front- not bad for cross! It kind of sucked in the loose corners but it sure was comfortable going over roots. I ended up starting first row and after some first corner shenanigans (I went into the corner with a guy on my inside, he went into my wheel, no crash but a delay did ensue) the rest of the race went smoother than any of my previous races. I messed up a couple corners, but I didn't crash and didn't do anything too dumb. My left cleat came loose on the last lap but it didn't cause any of the disastrous remount problems I envisioned and I ended up getting 14th out of 50 or so riders. Definitely a better start than last year!

My girlfriend was kind enough to take a couple pictures of me on Saturday.

no pics but did Hotter than Hell on Saturday. My longest ride in the last 3 years has been 65 but at the stop at 60 decided to go 100. Ride time was 5:02 and had 4 stops to fill bottles of about 3-5 min each. Name was not as advertised this year since temp didn't hit 90 until I finished and humidity was less than 50%. Even had a tailwind for the first 60 and not much headwind after turning for the century. That's about as nice a day as as you can get for a Texas summer. My first century in 25 years.

Just finished a personal best on my little 22 mile Sunday evening loop.
22 miles in 1:06.

I'm trying to get it under an hour, but beer and donuts keep hampering my progress.

I was able to watch this beautiful thunderstorm develop for half of the ride, and was treated to a nice sunset on the way home:

Damn. I was there last year when it was 105 and it took me 6. This year was supposed to be one of the best, but my buddy backed out at the last minute and I cancelled.

Next year.

Congrats on a great ride!

No pictures, but I went on a quick ride with one of my good guitar friends.
We've known each other for years but never rode together and it was really splendid.
Him on his Campy Record Wilier, me on the newly completed Chorus-Tarmac. Just an hour of rolling around the neighborhood, but a perfect afternoon on lovely roads and great conversation with a smart guy.
What more you you want?
Pics next time.

My Saturday was long.

First rest stop at 45 miles, thought my Garmin battery would die before the end of the day so I brought a charger. (bloody hanky is concealing it)

Some kind of weird water slide was set up on Main Street. This pic is from around halfway down the slide.

No pix. 46 miles and change in 2:40 -- on my own. There was a little climbing. Map My Ride says it was over 1,400 ft gain, in total. I dunno. Trouble with the hills around here is that they're not too long, but many are in that 10% - 15% incline range. So it gets kinda ugly doing 200 meter (length) climbs over and over. I'm no mountain goat. The good news is: the summer heat has relented a bit so it's not deadly just to go out and do a few miles on Sunday afternoon. Air temp was around 91 degrees F, and heat index was around 99, sunny. A month ago actual air temp was 96, but heat index was an incredible 114. Heart rate stayed in the 85% range (or more) and only hitting 21 mph on the flats.

Rode the Kearsarge Classic in New London, NH on Saturday. 90 mile mostly dirt grinder, 7,800 feet of climbing. An annual Epic for local land trust fund raiser. Great weather, post ride home made food and local beer. Still in recovery mode. Cheers

August 30th, did a 60 mile rain ride in Portland, Oregon. Serious down pour on Helvetia road, I was waiting under a Church roof, during this cloud burst.
