Is there a weight limit for this frame?

I read that early versions had a weight limit.

If this is true how do you determine ?

How does it compare to a master?

I bought Tecnos in 1995 and I think the weight limit was 160 lbs. I rode it for years at 200 lbs.

Do an advanced search for "Tecnos" in thread titles and you should find plenty of information.

I read and looked a lot when I owned mine--AFAIK, it was the Colnago importer at the time (pre-GITA) who suggested a weight limit on the bike. Colnago themselves did not.

Mine was a largish frame (A Freuler 62--which is why I sold it)--and I weighed around #180 at the time, and it was a fabulous ride. If I had the cash, I would have replaced it with a smaller (Colnago 59=57 c-t-c) one and would ride it with joy even though my weight has crept up a bit.

Here's a post from RoadBike Review on the topic:

Boneman, who knows a great deal (and blames the distributor for the weight limit) is a little confused about the tubing--the shaped tubing was stickered as Tecnos before the last iteration when it was stickered as Tecnos 2000. (I personally have not seen a Tecnos made of plain EL-OS...)

I have not had any time on a Master, so can't answer the last question.
