Anyone out there try to make your own? I am thinking organic coconut oil with some essential oils like lavender, eucalyptus, mint, camphor, etc. What to use for heat? Pepper oil? Any suggestions?

Do you just want to experiment, trying to make a superior product, or are you trying to save money? Seems like a lot of work to acquire the raw materials when there are so many options out there. For heat, mix in some Atomic Balm.

Oleresin capsicum is the "heat" in Atomic Balm and Red Hot. You can read about it here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepper_spray

"Heat" varies by concentration in the things it's suspended in. After that, you can mix up whatever oils, herb, fragrances you want.

Here's a decent recipe for you that you can make while you're busy with other canning activities in the kitchen.

I spent a bunch of time trying to create my own embro with no success. I just couldn't get the right consistency and feel. Some batches were too waxy, some were too oily, some were too hard, some were too soft.

From what I spent in materials and ingredients, I probably could have bought three or more containers of the pre-made stuff.

That being said, I'd still love to see a decent, easy recipe so I could make my own.

You can mix Rugby .025 generic Capsaicin with the moisturizer of your choice.
