Hoping for some feedback on seatpost shims ... 30.9 to 27.2.

My frame has a 30.9 dia and I have a Campy 27.2 seatposts. I'm comfortable with the setback on the Campy seatposts so I'm hoping to use an Al shim.

Has anyone used a seatpost shim ... good and bad reviews?

Any issues with Ti frame + Al shim + CF seatpost?

No issues with the Cane Creek shim I've been using in my Marcelo for the past few years. Steel frame-AL shim-AL post. Solid and quiet.

USE shims work great. Sized well, little lip to keep it from sliding down, nice.

Unless you have a Campagnolo seat post clamp, turn the clamp around 180 degrees so frame/shim split opposite seat clamp slot.

I've used shims before, Problem Solvers, with no issues. Grease the shim where it interacts with the seat tube.

A USE shim for my Marcelo, holds a 27.2 Thomson just fine.

Can't remember brand but I used a plastic shim for 30.6 to 27.2. Had a lip so it wouldn't drop into the seat tube. Alum post, alum seat tube (SystemSix).

USE shim on my BLE with a Woundup carbon post. No creak, haven't ever had an issue removing the post.

My Soulcraft Royale comes with a 28.6-27.2mm shim, from Cane Creek.

Very professional looking, with engraved dimensions. With a lip, so it doesn't fall in. Invisible once the clamp is installed.

Grease when you install it, and offset the slot on the shim relative to the seat tube slot, to help prevent the ingress of water. Spread a glob of grease in the exposed slot to further prevent water infiltration.
