I saw on Cinelli's instagram a tease for a new steel road frame. Anyone know any details?

I had a Marinoni TIG'd out of Nemo with Nemo fork and it was awesome! I regret selling it.

Digging this one. Not a lot of off-the-shelf options like this that I can think of (at this spec/contemporary design at least)... Anyone hear pricing details or see them at interbike? If below 1200 for the frame/fork, I'd say they're onto something:

Steel is back with this competition frame made with Columbus Spirit super oversize triple-butted tubes. The Tig welding technique enhances the possibility of making custom geometries and increases the frame stiffness. Steel, contemporary like never before. The Nemo sleeve with integrated seat clamp connects at the top & seat tubes to the rear stays for a better stress distribution and resistance of the frame. The 1.5 tapered head tube with the Columbus monocoque FEL fork increases the reactivity of the frame and the handling of the bike. The new steel dropouts connect at the best the rear stays matching all the angles of different sizes, offering an ideal weld surface of the stays avoiding any stress concentration

this makes me happy. an off the peg race ready steel bike. bravo! if pricing for this frameset is competitive with let's say the CAAD series of bikes, it could be a door opener to get steel back in grassroots racing.

I just took delivery of my Wraith Fabrication Hustle. (http://wraithfabrication.com/collections/bicycles/products/the-hustle)

Tig'd by Igleheart, spec'd by Adam of Stanridge Speed. Still waiting on a few finishing touches, but all signs point to it being one hell of a ride. Im with @angry, really nice to see race geared production frames with steel tubes. I currently can't afford a full custom, so these frames hit a sweet spot for me. I'm glad I supported American builders, but these Cinellis sure look appetizing if the price is competitive.

Have you seen the Condor and Genesis race ready steel bikes in the UK? They are pretty cool! Not cost competitive with a CAAD frameset though....

yea, exactly; the thing is that pro teams are never going to race on steel bikes again, carbon is here to stay. the amateur field, however is chock full of CAADs and other similarly priced framesets. the budgets for these individual racers and teams is just not there for high dollar carbon or bespoke steel. make a steel frame light, aggressive and inexpensive and they will go to the races!

Is this made from Nemo tubing or Spirit? Difference(s)?

It's a Cinelli, highly unlikely it'll be reasonable. Sorry, Nick. It is sweet, though.

i donno, the alu cinelli experience, which is a decently nice frame is pretty darned cheap....

(wishful thinking but you're probably right...)

you can tell just by the way they built it up for the studio pics...they are gonna punch you right in the wallet with this one. also the solid color paint. i would pay MORE for a solid color cinelli than i would for one painted like that alloy thing above...

I like the looks of the Cinelli very much, but -- like the XCR -- I don't anticipate that it will be priced affordably. Question: if there's a demand for off-the-shelf steel race options, then why didn't the Breezer Venturi ever catch on?

Answer: It's a Breezer.
Question: If there's a demand for off-the-shelf Italian steel race options, then why didn't the De Rosa Corum ever catch on?

Post some pics when you're done, I'm anxiously waiting on a Wraith Paycheck, same here glad to support a US builder and the price is great.

Why is everyone putting speed stripes or the likes on fork these days :/
Still nice but would be a lot nicer without em imo.

FWIW, it took roughly 7 months to get it, but all good things take time.

Considering the Cinelli is roughly comparable but costs over double, I would say the wait is well worth it.

Not sure what market they are going after considering the custom options out there, but then again I am obviously not that market and Cinelli knows the bike biz.

Thanks for the info, ordered sometime in June so I've got a little more waiting to do, but at that price point I don't really mind.

Yeah.........

In the end, the frame showed up as promised and Adam made an effort to keep everyone updated about the "wave's" progress. It took longer than I would have liked, but at least I wasn't left in the dark.

Can't judge a frame I haven't ridden, but the build has gone smoothy so far and I am pretty confident it's gonna be awesome.

The Wraith looks sweet. I think I'd have to pony up for an optional color if I ordered one. Battleship gray doesn't do it for me.

Wow, I've never actually looked at Wraiths but after seeing the price I went and scoured the site and that is a killer bike. My dream steel bike is a Cielo but Wraith has my attention.

That's a little more than the want for the new Greg Lemonds in steel. (I know a couple people who have the new Lemonds and love them and I road a buddy's bike and it is sweet.)
That said I love that purple Cinelli.

Hello gents!

Adam from Wraith here! Thanks for the kind words. Humbled. I'm completely blown away by the patience of our clients. Yes. The manufacturing opportunities of working with 25-50 tube sets at a time and contracting with moonlighters to keep the price down has really driven the wait inversely from the original goal of less than a week! Yikes! We've pooled resources. Obtained a small capital loan. Bought in bulk. We're ready to move production under the same roof as Stanridge (my bespoke line). I have almost completed an entire house and shop move in preparation.

If you want to keep up or pull the trigger shoot us your email. I've got a very limited 20 discount codes for cyber monday AND a very special announcement for today to the email list. My guess is you'll like what you see! :) Have a good holiday with loved ones.

Ciao

Sorry to say but I am with cv1966, I don't want my bike to look like it was made from galvanized pipes. Just a few limited colors (think Gunnar) would do it for me.
