Local wrench and overall badass (2 State Championships), Brendan Sharpe was recently hit by a car in Austin. Unfortunately, the car didn't stop to render aid and Brendan was hurt pretty badly.

Brendan works at Nelo's and is one of the nicest guys around. A fund was set-up to help with his medical expenses. If you care to donate, you can do so at:

Be careful out there!

A mechanic in a bike shop in Ankeny, Iowa was also killed in a DWI hit and run. Story here (http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/crime-and-courts/2015/08/17/gregary-wade-franck-cyclists-drunken-driving-urban-assault-crash/31889019/)

Note the linked story says he was critically injured, he has since died.

Sad for both.

Thanks for posting this. I knew he got hit, but didn't know about the fund raising part. Definitely a nice guy.
