Anyone been on the Thomson carbon road bar?
Like it, love it, hate it?
I'm on the Enve Compact, and with a (hopefully) new build in the works, am thinking about making a change (from Enve post, stem, bar to the Thomson collection).

Have the Thomson KFC bar; round profile vs flat top, and just a few mm less drop, otherwise pretty much the same as the Road model. Thomson has great schematics of both bars with dimensions on their web site.

I particularly like the fact the bars are 31.8 out to the bends, and that the tops at the bends have more meat to them than other conventional bars.

Liked it enough that when I crashed a set earlier this season I gulped hard and bought another one.

I wish they were a little thicker (larger diameter) in the bends -
Maybe another roll of chunky tape.

I like the tops, plenty to grab / rest on.

I have a layer of thin cushioned tape on the bends up to the lever clamps, then wrap Bontrager Double Gel Cork tape on the whole bar. Nice and fat, without too much squish. I really like the grip and the overall feel. And that base layer of tape in the bends really works nicely.

Like the shape of Enve drops but kinda bugged by how they end the bars out, with that rubber flap thing. KFC is a bit more oversized all the way out to just before the curve to the hoods.

Do the KFC bars have any outward flare to the drops or are the drops in line with the hoods?

No flare, hoods and ends are the same width. I like that and have had no issues with sprinting (other than my sprint itself) or climbing in the drops.

I switched over to KFC bars on my road bike from Ergonovas. I like them a lot. They have a really smooth transition from the tops to the hoods.
