Not long ago, a riding buddy of mine was commenting about the number of flats he was having. To which I happily replied, that it I had only had one flat in a year or so -- and I was feeling pretty good about it. That was a big mistake because the tire goblins heard me and everything has gone downhill since then.
It all started back in the first part of April when I brought in my bike from the van and the rear tire was completely flat...and when I removed the tire, the tube had a huge hole in it. At this point, I had no clue what I was in for. The following week, I had a flat on the way home from an early morning ride. The week after that, I discovered a flat on a bike that was just sitting in the house. Now, I was starting to get a little suspicious...but it doesn't stop there. Last Friday, I flatted on the way home again and then to top this off, I flatted this morning and barely made it home before it started raining.
So all together, I have had one flat per week for the last five weeks. These have been on three different bikes, so it's not like I have an issue with one particular tire.
How do I rid myself of the tire goblins http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/19.gif or am I cursed to ride forever on flat tires? I even tried the anti curse of buying the 100 pack of Rema tire patches hoping this would scare them off.
