Hi folks! Does anyone here know of a reliable/honest shop in the UK which will ship parts to me here in New York? I'm looking to get my hands on a Hope wheel-set. I had a conversation through email with the US distributor and he confirmed that they do not handle wheels. I found a few online stores (i.e. chainreaction) which are selling them but I have not found a set with the correct specs.

Thanks for your help and I hope you all are enjoying this riding season.

Here's an option, why not order Hope hubs from the UK and have them built up here in the US? If you have a good wheelbuilder in your area, you will be giving him business plus you can do things like pick rim (there's a ton of them), spokes (i.e., DT, Wheelsmith or others) and heck even specify nipple (i.e., brass or gulp, aluminum!). That way you know your wheel is built correctly!

Total Cycling sells Hope hubs:

As does Wiggle

Good Luck!

I appreciate your response but the wheelset I'm looking for uses Hope rims, and those rims are not shipped to the US either. The hubs are available in the US.

Sorry, didn't read the bit about looking for Hope rims. Prior to the Hope rims, they built their wheels with Stand rims.

Colorado Cyclist here in the good old US of A builds wheels with Hope hubs. I'm using them on my mountain bike. They make great stuff and all done in Blighty.

But for UK shops that are set up for US customers you can try Merlin, Ribble, Wiggle.... Trying to get a small shop to ship is near impossible, I tried to buy an Orange Clockwork frame about a year ago and no shop was willing to ship. I called about a dozen shops and I have the correct accent (I'm a Brit living in the US for the last 20 years)

Thanks!

FWIW I ordered a Manitou fork from chainreactioncycles.com on Sunday and the fork came here to NY on Wednesday. Three days from Ireland to New York.
