So, somehow I came across something about Onyx BMX hubs and their transition to making road and MTB hubs as well. They are apparently instant engagement and totally silent. And lots of $$, I imagine.

Are these things real and for sale, or are they the unicorn of the hub world?

They sound very cool and I would love to see a set. Well, to own a set, really. Laced to ENVE 29er rims, to be more precise.

Here are the current models available: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eu71c13lwhh2bvn/Hub%20Specs.xlsx?dl=0

I have several hundred miles on a 135 rear hub. The transition-less engagement and silence are delightful.
