I have a circa 2004 Campy G3 Scirocco wheelset -- 12mm steel axle, sealed cartridge bearings -- that I want to convert from 9 speed Shimano to 10-11 speed Campy.

Review of the Campy parts docs for 2002-2005 indicate the Campy freehub part number is FH-MI215. (From 2006-2009 the part number changes to FH-SC015, which also takes a 12mm axle and cartridge bearings; unfortunately, it also requires an oversized hub.)

Teh Google hasn't been much of a help, so, does anyone know where I can find a FH-MI215 or know of a Campy compatible freehub?

Thanks.

Stan

FH-MI-215 is the FH body with loose pawls, the FH-SC-015 has the pawls in a little retainer, like the pawls of today..2004 uses the MI FH body. I am not sure if the SC FH body would work. They do both use the same axle, FH-MI-001, so I'm thinking the newer one will work. Might be pretty tough to find the MI FH body since the design changed in 2005, a decade ago.

A decent LBS can find them, QBP, a distributor has them..buy and try maybe?

Thanks OP.

I actually tried a FH-SC015 and found that the outside diameter of the SC freehub that contains the pawls is 130 mm, while the inside diameter of the Scirocco hub is approx. 128.5 mm. So appears both hub and freehub design changed slightly post 2005.

May just have to sell the wheels and move on to current Campy offerings.

Khamsins currently $125, Sciroccos $199 at Ribble.

I might be interested in your 2004 wheels if you don't want to swap freehub bodies.
