It not as high as the min insertion mark. If the min insertion is 2 inches there is about that much again inserted.

Frame is steel and post is aluminum.

It should be if it isn't an ultralight model.

I would only use a high quality post like a Thompson in this case. In my bike shop experience I have seen too many "tall" posts bend over time and few that have sheared off just from the weight of the rider. Too much leverage, not worth the risk IMO.

Absolutely fine to use. Although the minimum insertion mark will be more than two inches.

Try to make sure the bottom of the seatpost is at a minimum, 10mm below the bottom of the top tube/seat tube weld.
