Tandem + BionX?

SF is not the most tandem friendly city. Every hill gets magnified 10x with a 50lb load in the back that puts out inconsistent power.:D
Thinking of retrofitting in a motor as I am looking to use it to take my son to school this coming year.
Any experience with electric motor installation? Looking at BionX as a possibility.
